Bloodstock Festival Countdown : 30 Bands Not To Miss - Xentrix

29. Xentrix - Sophie Lancaster stage - Sunday, August 11th - 6.45pm - 7.10pm

Following on from yesterday's Forbidden let's have another bunch of grizzled thrash veterans, but this time much closer to home, namely Preston. You see Xentrix were part of the motley bunch of UK thrashers that emerged in the late eighties. For a youngster like myself the selling point was that Xentrix looked and sounded like me and they were no more than a couple of years my senior. They had a youthful ferocity that was engaging and enticing.

Thirty five years later they may not be youthful no more but they still have the ferocity in spades. They head out across the country in november playing the stunning debut "Shattered Existence" in full so expect a huge dollop of tracks from it when they pay the Sophie Lancaster stage a visit. In fact, expect a band that has matured in both musical ability and in ambition. Xentrix are better than ever so get ready to bang your heads.
