If you played every record ever made simultaneously, it still wouldn’t light a candle to the eclectic bonkerness that is French innovator Gautier Serre. Igorrr circumnavigates every genre that you think of, but resolutely fit in none. Originally a one-person experimental palette for Gautier to gleefully combine his many different influences, Igorrr only transmogrified into a live proposition in 2017. Since then they have forged a reputation for being uncompromisingly odd.
The best advice we can give to the uninitiated, is to expect the unexpected. Leave your assumptions at home and let the ever-tumbling avalanche of juxtaposed sounds surround you. Igorrr live is like nothing you've ever seen and nothing you've ever heard. Come midnight on the Friday, you will still be none the wiser about what you just witnessed, but boy you will have enjoyed it!
I just love Metal. I love it all. The bombastity of symphonic, the brutality of death, the rousing choruses of power, the nihilistic evil of black, the pounding atmospherics of doom, the whirling time changes of prog, the faithful familiarity of trad, the other worldlyness of post, the sheer unrefined power of thrash. I love it all!
