Bloodstock : 30 Bands Not To Miss - Witchsorrow
6. Witchsorrow – Ronnie James Dio stage - Friday, August 11th, ludicrously early.
If there is one act who deserve their placing at this year's festival then it is Hampshire's finest Witchsorrow. For 15 years they have diligently and without much fanfare produced some of the finest doom metal you will come across.
This is route 101 classic doom metal. They have refrained from any of that genre splicing nonsense and instead they have seen their calling as being the best to produce old skool doom possible. They take it back to the source; guitar, bass and drum operating in synchronisation belching out sure unadulterated heaviness.
So grab your bacon butties and your first pints of the day and prepared to be swept away by the heaviest, darkest and most pendulous riffs there will be ever dispensed at 10:45 in the morning. This is the best hangover cure you will ever partake in.
I just love Metal. I love it all. The bombastity of symphonic, the brutality of death, the rousing choruses of power, the nihilistic evil of black, the pounding atmospherics of doom, the whirling time changes of prog, the faithful familiarity of trad, the other worldlyness of post, the sheer unrefined power of thrash. I love it all!
