05. Countless Skies - 'Glow'

I am a hard man to please. It is very rare for a record to inexplicably blow me away. I usually know when I am going to love something and when I am going to loath something. “Glow” turned my head and swept me off my feet. It is utterly incredible. This is a beautiful, lush and sumptuously gorgeous record. It is melodic Death Metal, but with the inference very much on the melodic.

 It is bright, optimistic and uplifting record that abandons any trace of Death Metal’s dark menacing undertones. It soars with euphoric positivity and baths in buoyant enthusiasm. It is laced with a bombastity and flamboyance that is ripped straight from the jaws of Power Metal. I have never felt so spiritually enriched by Metal than I did during this album’s forty-four-minute duration. Just sensational.
