Live : Warrior Soul + 40Days + Mad Haven @ the Live Rooms, Chester on November 29th 2017
In the last couple of weeks, I have been quite busy with my photography work. While one may think that the glamourous life of being a rock photographer allows me to lounge around the rest of the week and write at my own leisure. But with a full time day job, I am not fortunate enough to have this luxury. So here is a weekly roundup of recent gigs.
On November 29th, Warrior Soul were at The Live Rooms in Chester presenting their recent release "Back On The Lash" on a UK tour. Playing in midweek, especially in Chester might not always be a good idea. I arrived in time for the 2 local welsh support bands, (that makes a change). I had seen Llandudno's Mad Haven previously on the Live Rooms smaller stage. This time, as the youngsters came on, they looked a bit uneasy, but a few songs into the set and with the support of the few punters there, they started to relax a bit and their performance improved. Next support act, was Wrexham's 40days, the older more experienced band delievered their own brand of clsssic blues rock with great vocals from Andy Cutty (Lead Guitar) and Kev Plant (Bass Guitar). Next is Kory Clarke who appeared on the music scene with Warrior Soul at the beginning of the 90's. I would have thought that with age, the gritty vocalist would have calmed down a bit but you will be glad to know that the guy hasn't lost a tenth of the spirit of his younger days. Be prepared to hear a few swear words and receive a few middle fingers pointed at you, Kory is still angry and still ranting. Check out this article as to why you should be Reconsidering Warrior Soul.
